Learning Begins With LEAH

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Hartwick LEAH Homeschool Community (HLHSC) is to provide homeschool families with a Biblical World View based environment, consistent with the New York State LEAH’s application, to participate in (explore) a wide variety of social and educational opportunities utilizing cooperative and collaborative approach.

Mission

Hartwick LEAH Homeschool Community (HLHSC) is a parent-run homeschool cooperative through which parents are given the opportunity to network and pool their resources and talents to expose children to fun, engaging, and educational classes and activities. HLHSC is distinctly Christian in nature, but strongly encourages an open membership to any who will respect that distinction. HLHSC is dedicated to providing affordable, alternative learning opportunities and unique experiences for homeschool children and their families. HLHSC does NOT exist to provide a complete education for homeschooled children, but DOES exist to further enrich homeschool programs by providing mentoring, tutoring, academic, and elective/extracurricular based programs. HLHSC is here to encourage and empower homeschool families to have confidence to teach on their own at home and as an opportunity for homeschool parents to network with each other for like-minded support.

Vision

The long-term vision of HLHSC is to promote, foster, and support a collaborative approach by offering academic, social, extracurricular, and elective programs for homeschooled children and their families in our community and surrounding area while fully utilizing member families and community peers with specific expertise for all aspects of the continued management, operation, and success of The Cooperative.  In the beginning, the cooperative will offer primarily social and extracurricular activities with the hopes the Cooperative will grow, offering more opportunities as the needs of the participating homeschool based families are better understood.
